Get ready for blast off! StarSkate Program registration is now open and we are over the moon excited to welcome our new and returning StarSkaters.
StarSkate program starts on September 13th so visit our registration page soon to register! Registration is prorated if joining later in the season.
To kick the season off in style, join us on September 11th for the Chestermere Fall Parade & Pizza Party (FREE registration!) and Boot Breaker session (FREE for all StarSkate program registrants!)
With multiple days of On-Ice Training to chose from this season, you can match your skaters aspirations to the right level of training and commitment. Once you choose the day(s), the registration is for the entire Fall/ Winter season.
Mondays, 4 - 5:30pm
Tuesdays, 4 - 5:30pm
Wednesdays, 4 - 5:30pm
Thursdays, 4 - 4:45pm

Sundays, 1:30 - 2:30pm
It is also recommended for all STARSkaters to participate in our accompanying Off-Ice Dryland Training program. The package works like a membership, valid for the full Fall and Winter session. StarSkaters are encouraged to attend even if not skating on those days.
Mondays, 5:45 - 6:15pm (NEW!)
Tuesdays, 5:45 - 6:15pm
Wednesdays, 5:45 - 6:15pm
Sundays, 12 - 1pm
Dry land benefits skaters immensely. It gives the coaches an opportunity to walk skaters through the proper techniques in jumps and other elements so that they are able to execute them easier on ice. These sessions will also offer goal setting sessions, nutrition education and other strength building sessions to help our athletes lead a healthy, positive lifestyle.
Morning On-Ice Training is also available for StarSkaters who desire extra edges, jumps and spins training. Coaching and ice time is included in registration fees.
Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30am
Fridays, 6:30 - 7:30am
Please keep in mind that the Long Term Athlete Development Plan (LTADP) from Skate Canada recommends the following:
7-11 years old skate 2-4 days a week 30-40 weeks a year
9-13 years old skate 4-5 days a week 1-2 sessions a day 40-46 days a week
10-16 years old skate 5 days a week 2-3 sessions a day 44-48 hours a week
So choose a training schedule that can help your skater train the recommended number of hours, with the support of coaches who know exactly how to inspire and motivate them!
The SkateCanada StarSkate programing is designed to be able to achieve gold tests in all four disciplines:
Our coaches have achieved this! And now, with over 100 years of their combined coaching experience in helping skaters achieve their gold tests, your skaters can become the best version of themselves and achieve success also, provided you follow the recommendations for hours of training from SkateCanada.
So sharpen your skates and get ready to convert your dreams into training goals and achievements!
