The program dates/ class offerings may be revised to align with the provincial and health authority guidelines on sport programs.  Refunds are offered in case of class or session cancellations.

2021 Casino Fundraiser: October 6th and 7th, 2021
This is the largest fundraising event for our club that only happens every few years.  A number of different positions and shifts are available. Donation of your time translates into a large amount of funding for our programs!

Fall 2021 Cash Draw Raffle: date to be determined.

Fall Parade & Pizza Party: Saturday, September 11th, 2021 at 9am
Join us as we travel the always-popular Chestermere Community Fall Parade starting from the Chestermere Middle School and for a follow-up pizza party 11:15am to 12:15pm at the Chestermere Rec Centre where you can meet our coaches and other skaters. Free registration!
 
Boot Breaker: Saturday, September 11th, 2021 at 12:30pm to 1:30pm (on ice) and 1:45pm to 2:45pm goal setting
To meet our new and returning StarSkaters and set up goals for the upcoming year. Free for all StarSkate program registrants!
 
Program Assistant Training: Sunday, September 12th, 2021 arrive at 12pm
For StarSkaters to learn the roles and responsibilities of a PA, tips and tricks of engaging with the CanSkaters, leading the warm-up and cool-downs and using their creativity to set up the fun zone.
 

 

PreCanSkate and CanSkate Sessions

PreCanSkate class is designed for skaters 3 to 5 years old that have never skated before or have not passed PreCanSkate. 

CanSkate Level 1-6 class is designed for skaters 3 or 4 years of age that have passed PreCanSkate or are 5 years of age or older and have never skated before or have limited skating experience. Skaters will be grouped within their badge level achievement or skating experience and skill.

CanPowerSkate Sessions

Please contact us directly at inquiries@iceedgeskatingclub.com if interested in this program. Class would be offered 4:15 to 5:15pm on Fridays if there is sufficient number of participants.

Pre-Power is designed for young skaters who may not be ready for CanPowerSkate Level 1 who are 4 to 6 years of age and interested in hockey or ringette. Skaters must be able to stand up on skates and move forward (shuffle, walk or glide).
 
CanPowerSkate Level 1-6 is designed for skaters 6 years of age or older that are interested in hockey or ringette. CanPowerSkate is geared to skaters aged approximately six or older who already have basic forward and backward skating skills (they MUST be able to skate the length of the rink using alternate strides) and are able to stop on command without use of the boards.
 
 

STARSkate Sessions

STARSkate classes are designed for skaters that have completed CanSkate Level 5 or have been invited to join the program by our Director of Skating.
 
 
Dryland Training package works like a membership. It is valid for the full Fall and Winter session. StarSkaters are welcome and encouraged to attend all days even if not skating on that day, but can join in on whichever day works the best in their schedule.

On-Ice Training: StarSkaters can register for as few or as many days as needed to fulfil their dreams. Refer to Skate Canada Long Term Athlete Development Plan (LTADP) on a recommended number of skating hours per week and per year, or contact our Director of Skating at coaching@iceedgeskatingclub.com for guidance. Once you choose the day(s), the registration is for the entire Fall/ Winter season.
