Tuesdays, 5:45 - 6:15pm

Wednesdays, 5:45 - 6:15pm

Sundays, 12 - 1pm

Dry land benefits skaters immensely. It gives the coaches an opportunity to walk skaters through the proper techniques in jumps and other elements so that they are able to execute them easier on ice. These sessions will also offer goal setting sessions, nutrition education and other strength building sessions to help our athletes lead a healthy, positive lifestyle.

AM Ice Training:

Morning On-Ice Training is also available for StarSkaters who desire extra edges, jumps and spins training. Coaching and ice time is included in registration fees.

Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30am

Fridays, 6:30 - 7:30am

So choose a training schedule that can help your skater train the recommended number of hours, with the support of coaches who know exactly how to inspire and motivate them!

The SkateCanada StarSkate programing is designed to be able to achieve gold tests in all four disciplines:

Freeskate

Dance

Skills

Interpretive/Artistic

Our coaches have achieved this! And now, with over 100 years of their combined coaching experience in helping skaters achieve their gold tests, your skaters can become the best version of themselves and achieve success also, provided you follow the recommendations for hours of training from SkateCanada.

So join us and get ready to convert your dreams into training goals and achievements!

Sundays, 2:30 to 3:30 pm, January 9th to April 3rd

If you are looking for a skating program in our local community, where your child can learn to skate and develop skating skills to participate in other ice sports, look no further.

PreCanSkate program is designed for skaters 3 years of age or older who have never skated before or are just learning to skate.

CanSkate program is for skaters 5 years and older who are just learning to skate or have some skating experience but still need to develop their skills. All participants will develop fundamentals in areas of agility, balance and control, and will earn ribbons and badges as skills are mastered.

Classes are taught by coach Caitlin Bowers whose passion and energy for skating inspires young skaters to lace up and keep on improving!

Skaters will need well-fitted and sharpened figure or hockey skates, warm pants, a warm sweater or jacket and gloves (no hockey gloves please).

CSA approved hockey helmet is also required.

CanPowerSkate Level 1 to 6:

Sundays, 2:30 to 3:30pm, January 9th to April 3rd 2022, at the Chestermere Recreation Centre

CanPowerSkate Level 1-6 is designed for skaters 6 years of age or older who are interested in hockey or ringette. The program is geared towards skaters who already have basic forward and backward skating skills and are able to stop on command without use of the boards.

CanPowerSkate is an action-packed, high energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations.

The classes are taught by coach Candice Campbell-Behm who has been a professional skating coach since 1998, specializing in skating skills, edge work and agility. Candice works throughout the Calgary region with players ranging from Learn to Skate to AAA hockey players.

A CSA approved hockey helmet is required and kids are welcome to wear full hockey/ringette gear.

Anyone interested to transfer over from a Winter 2022 CanSkate program to CanPowerSkate program should email: president@iceedgeskatingclub.com and vp@iceedgeskatingclub.com.
