🍂 FALL 2026/ WINTER 2027 PRESTARSKATE AND STARSKATE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!! ⛸️

As the long summer days begin to wind down, we’re thrilled to begin another inspiring season! Our coaches cannot wait to see the skaters join us on and off the ice with fresh energy, big goals, and the determination to train towards the best version of yourself. 

Whether your skater is building foundational skills or striving toward advanced development, our Fall 2026 / Winter 2027 programs offer the structure, support, and expert coaching needed to thrive.

✨ Fall 2026 / Winter 2027 Figure Skating Programs

 

Register for PreStar / StarSkate classes by Monday, August 31, 2026 to receive our multi‑product discount. Discounts apply automatically when registering for multiple items (excluding dryland) e.g. 3 items 6% discount, 4 items 7% discount, 5 items 8% discount up to a maximum of 10%.

With multiple days of on‑ice training available, families can choose the schedule that best supports their skater’s goals and recommended training hours.

 

⛸️ StarSkate Schedule

  • Mondays 4:00–5:30 pm (Sept 14 – Mar 15)

  • Tuesdays 4:00–5:30 pm (Sept 15 – Mar 16)

  • Wednesdays 4:00–5:30 pm (Sept 16 – Mar 17)

  • Fridays 3:45–5:15 pm (Sept 18 – Mar 19)

  • Sundays 1:30–3:00 pm (Sept 20 – Mar 14)

🌟 PreStarSkate Group

  • Tuesdays 4:30–5:15 pm (Sept 15 – Mar 16)

  • Thursdays 4:30–5:15 pm (Sept 17 – Mar 18)

 

💪 Mandatory Dryland Training

Dryland runs Sept 14 – Mar 19 and is essential for developing strong, well‑rounded athletes. The package works like a membership, valid for the full Fall and Winter session. Skaters are encouraged to attend even if they are not skating on those days.

  • Mon/Tues/Wed 5:45–6:15 pm

  • Fridays 5:30–6:00 pm

  • Sundays 12:00–1:00 pm

 

🌅 Fall 2026 Extra Morning Ice (StarSkate)

For skaters seeking additional edges, jumps, and spins training:

  • Wednesdays 6:30–7:30 am (Sept 16 – Dec 16)

  • Fridays 6:30–7:30 am (Sept 18 – Dec 18)

 

📘 LTADP Training Recommendations

From Skate Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Plan:

  • Ages 7–11: 2–4 days/week

  • Ages 9–13: 4–5 days/week, 1–2 sessions/day

  • Ages 10–16: 5 days/week, 2–3 sessions/day

Our program structure supports these guidelines to help skaters progress safely and confidently.

BootBreaker — PreStar & StarSkate

Sunday, September 13, 2026 | 12:00–3:00 pm

  • 12:00–1:15 pm — Goal Setting (parents & skaters)

  • 1:30–2:45 pm — On‑Ice

  • 2:45–3:00 pm — Parents are cordially invited for viewing of 💙⚡Electric Blue ⚡💙 On-Ice Performance!

Skaters should bring lunch, snacks, water, skates, and skating attire.

 

Pre‑CanSkate & CanSkate PA Training PreStarSkate and StarSkate Age 10+ (free)

For PreStar & StarSkaters age 10+

Sunday, September 20, 2026 | 3:00–5:15 pm

  • 3:00–4:30 pm — On‑Ice (Blue Arena)

  • 4:30–5:15 pm — Off‑Ice Training (Location TBD)

 

📌 Important Notes

  • StarSkate registration includes 1.5 hours of ice time + 45 minutes of coaching per session. Skaters will receive group lessons in dance, skills, freeskate, and stroking. Note that additional coaching fees will be charged to skaters receiving extra private lessons as needed for choreography, assessments, High Test Days, dance partnering and competitions. These additional coaching fees will be invoiced to each skater directly by the coach(es) via email invoice and are due upon receipt. 

  • PreStarSkate Group has no additional lesson fees, though competition participation may involve extra costs.

  • All skaters must hold a valid Skate Canada Membership (Annual membership from September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027 is $63.70).

  • All participants require an active CRCA Membership. Annual CRCA membership, which is valid from July 1 to June 30, can be purchased online at https://www.chestermerecrca.com/history/membership-info/ . Individual membership is $64, while family memberships are $92.50 + GST and provide a unique membership number for each family member added to the family account. Current members - please update your CRCA Number for each participant with their unique CRCA number in your account. New members – you will be asked to provide your CRCA Number at the time of registration. CRCA membership benefits include access to free public skating and shinny hockey times, as well as discounts on recreation programs and room rentals.

  • Late registration will be pro‑rated.
